Project title
The idea of this container is born from the deconstruction of a very well know Mexican traditional dish " Tacos", it´s always about Tacos. An interesting, fun, versatile recipient was needed to hold the new meal (Tacos in a cone form) and other variety of edibles such as sauces or chips. Inspiration came from playing with the origami fortune teller, four spaces to introduce a variety of four edibles. The process to develop the product, was to play with paper and food. First understanding what would be the ideal sizing of the edible, how people would interact with it and use that experience to create the object. Then 3D modeling came to the game together with 3D printing. The proposed material is Bioplastic made from the agave fiber, it allows to keep good mechanical properties in the products, reduce the weight of the pieces and replace a part of the plastic with plants. Aesthetically the fibers from the blue agave are engraved in the object, it gives the Origami bowl the strength of the Molcajete mortar.
This food recipient is inspired by the origami "Paper Fortune Teller" & "Molcajete", the Mexican mortar used to crush ingredients to make sauces and food.
